about

I wrote this song when I was living in the northern part of South Africa on a game farm. I remember it pouring forth like a small waterfall, breathing life into my tired soul at that time and bringing refreshment to others. I can take no credit for writing this, even as a tree can take no credit for the wind blowing through its leaves or a valley can take credit for a river flowing through it. Christ is all and in all. This song explains the hunger and ever deepening desire to know Jesus more and more, even if the journey is super scary and wild. May we continue to be blown away by Him. And I believe that when we open our hearts to Who He is, He WILL surely do it.

lyrics

If you are the Wind and I am a tree,
I pray that You would hurricane me.
And turn my world inside out,
Lay bare my faults and turn me around.

Till all I see is You.
Till all I know is true.
Till all this haziness clears away.
Till all I see is Your Way.

Let me clearer understand,
Your overflowing Grace and Plan.
Your Love that covers all,
Will fill my thirsty soul, yes, will fill my thirsty soul.

If You are the Ocean and I am a ship,
I would ask You to take me on a super long trip.
And even if it only would be You and me,
I would still prefer the Face of the Unending Sea,
Cause all I would see would be You .

And all I would know would be true,
And all this haziness would clear away,
And all I would see would be Your Day,
Let me clearer understand,
Your over flowing Grace and Plan,
Your love that covers all,
It wills my thirsty soul, yes, it fills my thirsty soul.
